Job Description:

Avanade Inc. is seeking a Sitecore Developer in Florham Park, NJ to focus on content management, digital marketing, and e-commerce platforms such as Sitecore, Episerver, Adobe Experience Manager, Umbraco, and other similar products. Day-to-day, you will: use business process requirements to drive the detailed design of application and technical architecture components, including configure, build, and test; work with other developers, designers and architects to ensure configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals; plan and execute all required process steps as defined in Avanade’s methodologies; anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues/risks affecting delivery; participate in transitions of the application or technical architecture components to the Quality Engineers; fix any defects and performance problems discovered in testing; participate in quality management reviews, ensuring the application design and related work products satisfy the requirements; participate in Process Execution and Improvement; coordinate and participate in structured peer reviews/walkthroughs; create technical and functional/end-user operational documentation for the software or system; provide application/technical support as needed; meet milestones and related effort/time commitments for assigned deliverables and provide work status, including estimated time-to-complete and actuals; coordinate with and leverage offshore resources; and maintain and/or update technical and/or industry knowledge and skills through continuous learning activities, such as reading journals/magazines, collaborating with other technical professionals, learning from on-the-job experiences, participating in technical training, and/or writing articles. Periodic travel to client sites (domestic/international) is expected. Must live w/in reasonable commuting distance of Florham Park, NJ.

Basic Qualifications:

The position requires a three or four year U.S. or foreign bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field, plus at least 3 years of experience in the job offered, or in a similar role within an IT or IT consulting environment. A qualified applicant's experience must include: 3 years of experience in application development, complex code development, application testing, and component design for products/technologies using Sitecore, Episerver, Adobe Experience Manager, or Umbraco; 3 years of experience in the design of application and technical architecture components built on the Microsoft platform; 3 years of experience with iterative development life cycle methodologies and application of those principles, such as Agile development practices (or similar) in a product delivery model; 2 years of experience in developing solutions using Sitecore CMS (8.x+) and utilizing ASP.NET MVC 3/4/5, C#, ADO.NET, Entity Framework, Visual Studio 2008/2010/2012/2013/2015, LINQ, jQuery, Javascript, and CSS; 2 years of experience of Design Patterns, XML/JSON and using and consuming 3rd party web services/APIs (SOAP and REST); 2 years of experience communicating (verbally and in writing) and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders; and 1 year of experience working with global and/or offshore teams to facilitate projects and/or project work.
