About the role:
Market Units are responsible for applying Avanade’s deep technical knowledge and experience to challenging business problems for our clients, and owning Avanade’s Go-To-Market strategy for our offerings.
As an Offering/Sales Engineering Lead for Application Development and Modernization, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, performance and growth of the Modern Application Transformation (MAT) offering in Eastern Canada. The position is based in Montreal with some occasional regional travel and requires an individual who is comfortable working in both English and French.
The broad MAT offering includes the development of digital applications (web, mobile, desktop, cloud-based), application portfolio modernization and migration, Agile/DevOps consulting, and enterprise architecture. While not expected to be expert in all these areas, you should have a strong background in one or more areas, and some knowledge of cloud application development (Microsoft Azure preferred).
You will partner closely with other Market Unit leads at the national and higher levels to implement a strategy for building a sales pipeline of opportunities, working across offerings and proposing strategic investments to drive demand generation. You’ll focus on driving the offering every day; serving as the “face” of the offering internally and externally for Eastern Canada, support offering sales and delivery, including growing capability and capacity, and forging regional relationships with partners Microsoft and Accenture.
In this role, you will also manage solutions delivery for projects in your portfolio, working with delivery leads, execution teams, offshore resources and the client to ensure smooth project operations and business outcomes.
Day-to-day, you will:
Collaborate with and educate account and sales teams to drive offerings to target clients, including all stages of the deal pursuit, review and approval
Support quality and client delivery issues for offerings and solutions in your Region
Manage budget against assigned Area/Region metrics; provide forecasting and sales pipeline analysis to support processes
Effectively position offerings and collaborations within the Regional sales channel
Act as main point of contact with local partners, primarily Accenture and Microsoft, to review pipeline, educate on our offerings, and ensure Azure is considered as part of proposed solutions with clients
Short-term travel as dictated by the business.
You revel in success, and have a strong background in software development and solutioning. You are equally comfortable presenting solutions and demos to a senior audience as you are collaborating with architects and designers to imagine technical solutions to business problems. Internally, you enjoy collaborating in the development, production, and promotion of solution offerings and sales strategies to grow a technology services line of business.
In addition, your professional skillset likely includes:
Experience delivering solutions for client organizations through complex solutions / projects with heavy client interaction
Strong consulting / project-based background, including assessing and managing the opportunity and risk associated with large scale, complex projects.
Experience with sales principles and practices, including business development, marketing, and complex channel management
Ability to effectively team with peers in a large, matrixed organizations, including significant experience with off-shore teams and delivery
You likely possess a Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree or MBA is a benefit, particularly technical (IT, engineering, or related), but is not required.
You likely have 10+ years of relevant technology experience, including solution sales, creation, delivery and business management, and at least 2-3 years of technical delivery experience in application development or management, particularly within a consultancy. Knowledge of cloud computing, Agile, DevOps, and Microsoft Azure, are particularly valuable skills for this role.
